About VCAA
Advancing Community. Shaping the Future.
A regional growth alliance aligning organizations, resources, and long-term planning around Vandalia’s future.
Why VCAA Exists
Communities are competing not only for businesses, but also for people, talent, investment, funding, and long-term relevance.
The communities that succeed move beyond transactional development and isolated projects. They coordinate institutions, connect investments, strengthen quality of life, prepare infrastructure, support workforce pipelines, and plan intentionally.
Vandalia already possesses significant assets and momentum. VCAA exists to help align those strengths around a shared future.
Community Momentum
Community leaders identified more than $50 million in recent local investment across major public, educational, healthcare, recreational, and infrastructure projects.
- Library and hospital investment
- YMCA facility and campus expansion
- Water-treatment infrastructure
- School athletic facilities
- Expanded career and technical education programs
This is a community-reported illustration of momentum, not a complete audited total.
How We Are Different
Vandalia Civic Advancement does not replace the work of local government, the Chamber of Commerce, economic-development organizations, schools, healthcare providers, recreation organizations, businesses, or other community institutions.
Those organizations continue to lead services, programs, operations, and projects within their areas of responsibility.
VCAA focuses on connecting the broader system surrounding that work—aligning strategy, institutions, resources, opportunities, and long-term community priorities.
Our guiding question
What kind of community do we want to become—and how do we build toward that future intentionally?
